Support for HVCs

HIV and AIDS have had a significant impact on societies, particularly on children who have lost parents and caregivers. In Amhara, Ethiopia, many vulnerable children are left without proper care. To address this issue, ANPPCAN-Ethiopia partnered with local government offices and structures to implement the Yekokebe Berihan Highly Vulnerable Children and USAID Caring for Vulnerable Children Activity projects from 2011 to 2019. These PEPFAR-funded projects directly supported over 14,000 OVCs and their caregivers through shelter and care services, economic strengthening, legal protection, health and psycho-social support, food and nutrition, education, and coordination of cares and health referral linkages.
